Strider Names Former Deputy Director of the National Security Agency George C. Barnes as Advisor

Barnes, former Deputy Director of the U.S. National Security Agency, is joining the company as an Advisor. In this role, Barnes will support Strider’s efforts to enhance its strategic intelligence capabilities to meet the growing demands of organizational leaders navigating this new geopolitical environment.

George Barnes served as the Deputy Director and civilian leader of the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) from 2017 to 2023 where he oversaw strategy execution, policy creation, and operations.

His tenure as Deputy Director was the culmination of a 36-year career at NSA. Previously, he held numerous technical and organizational leadership roles spanning intelligence collection operations, intelligence target analysis, foreign liaison and industrial partnership management, workforce support, and global enterprise governance.

Today, Mr. Barnes is a Partner at Red Cell Partners, where he serves as the President of the firm’s cybersecurity practice. Mr. Barnes is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. In 2020, he was honored as a Distinguished Alumni by the University of Maryland’s College of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
