WASHINGTON, Sept.17, 2019 — Strider, the world’s first risk intelligence platform leveraging proprietary datasets, machine learning and human intelligence to illuminate economic espionage risks beyond the cyber domain, announced today that it has closed $2 million in funding led by DataTribe, a global cyber foundry.

The company will use the funding to expand its world-class team and infrastructure to accelerate Strider’s growth in providing companies with the tools to better protect their innovation.

“Strider is a first-of-its-kind technology and capability that finally gives the commercial world a powerful tool to combat the massive problem of IP theft and economic espionage,” said Mike Janke, Co-founder of DataTribe. “Strider’s technology will also deliver unique corporate strategy insights to support companies as they navigate today’s rapidly changing economic landscape.”

Strider’s software-as-a-service platform is being harnessed by Fortune 500 companies to illuminate employee, third-party ecosystem, and industry risks related to nation state directed activities, enabling these organizations to better safeguard their employees, protect their intellectual property, and secure their long-term competitiveness.

“With DataTribe’s backing, we are able to turbocharge our growth and ability to deliver high value, actionable insights to our customers. We’re thrilled to have DataTribe on our team,” said Greg Levesque, CEO and co-founder of Strider.

It’s estimated that loss of IP costs American companies hundreds of billions annually.

Strider’s technology enables customers to obtain risk signals that have been previously unseen to reduce the potential for information diversion and IP loss.

“Theft of IP from companies is a global epidemic,” said Bill Priestap, Strider board member and former Assistant Director for Counterintelligence at the FBI. “Strider’s technology puts corporate leaders in a position to see these risks, develop a response, and act.”

Strider was co-founded by Greg Levesque, CEO, Eric Levesque, Chief Strategy Officer, and Michael A. Brown, Chief Technology Officer.
